There are so many family cars on the market. But which ones are the best for families on a budget?

Skoda Superb

If you’re looking for a car with plenty of space and room, then the Skoda Superb is a car you need to consider. Don’t let the reputation of Skoda put you off. Sure, it’s a manufacturer that has been poor in the past, and that reputation lingers on. But they’re seriously one of the best manufacturers around today.

They top driver satisfaction polls time after time. And the Superb is their very best car to date. It offers a spacious car that resembles some of the best things about the old Volkswagen Passat. The boot is huge, and the leg and headroom are incredible.

Toyota Corolla

Understandably, parents place a lot of importance on the reliability of a car. There’s nothing more infuriating than having to deal with a breakdown when you need the car most of all. If you have a car that breaks down a lot, no matter how cheaply you bought it for, you’ll end up having to spend a lot of cash on it. That’s not good for you or your family.

So, that’s why you need to consider the Toyota Corolla. It’s easily one of the most reliable family cars on the market right now. The interiors are great as well.

Vauxhall Insignia

The thing that puts a lot of people off buying a Vauxhall Insignia is the fact that it doesn’t do anything superbly. It’s one of those consistent and mundane types of cars that do lots of things well, but nothing exceptionally well. This has worked against it, as has the fact that a lot of people associate it with the Vauxhall Vectra, which was a bad car.

Don’t let that put you off though. It’s pretty fun to drive; it doesn’t break down easily, and there’s more than enough room for a family of four.

Honda Civic

The price is what attracts a lot of people to the Honda Civic, but if you scratch below the surface, you see that it has a lot more than a low price tag. For a start, the car has really stylish looks that most cars of this type don’t. Most cars that are cheap and affordable have a boring and dull approach to design. But you certainly can’t say that about the dynamic design of the Honda Civic.

Then there’s the fuel efficiency to take into consideration. Sure, it’s not an electric car, but it does use its fuel more efficiently than most of its rivals.

Peugeot 308

The Peugeot is a massive step forward from the 307 model. This is a hatchback car that aims towards the quality of cars like the Ford Focus or Volkswagen Golf. But, unlike those cars at their peak, the 308 remains a budget car that can be found very cheaply. You can pick them up for low prices, and the prices are falling all the time.

If you want a roomy car that looks great when you’re cruising down the road, this is the car for you.
